Opernlofts Berlin

The Opernlofts are the former decoration workshops of the Komische Oper in Berlin Mitte, which were converted into lofts. In addition to the corporate design development for the residential project, we also developed the elaborately designed sales brochure, the building description, the website and the communication measures at the property itself (building sign, signage, etc.).

Our task was to translate Pott Architects’ high-quality and sophisticated loft concept into a design language for the communication materials. We based the typography and design strongly on the Bauhaus aesthetics of the 1930s. We also tried to pick up on the craftsmanship of the renovation and the reference to the existing property in the choice of paper and the open thread stitching of the brochure. Furthermore, we gave the photographs by Harf Zimmermann a lot of space in the brochure and the website and picked up on the aesthetics of the images in the design. The specially produced boxes in which the brochure and the building description were delivered are individually numbered and underline the exclusive character of the project.

Thanks to the good and intensive cooperation of the project partners involved, the project was extremely successful in terms of both design and business. The brochure and the website won awards in the 2011 Advertising Yearbook competition; the loft apartments were sold within a very short time.
